About the ashram: Mr Nanjundeshawar is a BSc Graduate and is 65 years old. He has been inspired and supported by Reader and a Poet Dr. G P Rajarathnam. He has been supported by Mr.Chandrashekar (Justice) and Mr.Chandrayya (LIC Officer) to start this ashrama. The Chaityananda Trust is at Basaveswaranagar, which is giving support to this ashrama. Mr.Girish, a Bcom Graduate from Udupi is taking care of all the children related to their studies by dedicating his Time at this Ashrama. The Ashrama initated its work since 1995 and registered in 1996. The students in the ashrama are good at studies and all they need is the support in the form of Money and certain moral programmes which make them a disciplined citizens. The ashram is having an area is of three adjacent sites of 30*40 dimention.
It was started in 1996 and housing about 20 children and
4 care-takers since 1998.
Age of the children range from 8 years to 15 years, as of now.
There are some people who have contributed heavily for this noble cause there, but most of the Godfathers are no more.
And Mr. Lakshminarayan says that the organization is completely dependent on the donations that flows in from the society, not a single Rupee has come from the Govt.
The best part of the aashram was, after the school timings, the children are engaged in playful things, apart from the curricular studies, they are being taught bhajans, songs, paintings, making chalk pieces for commercial purposes, and other handicrafts.
The mentors and teachers are open to suggestions from the out-siders/donors.
Activities:
Donated the amount of Rs.5000/- to the Chaityananda Ashrama
The team given a nice advice to the students regarding the moral principles to be ultivated in the life for their bright future.
The team has also distributed a (Sweet+Fruit) to all the members in the ashrama. The team had afternoon lunch in the ashrama to check the quality of the food served for the students. The Food was good.
